Sound Familiar?

I want to get back into fitness, but…

  • My back’s been acting up.
  • I’m not in shape enough to start.
  • I’ve tried before and it didn’t work.
  • I don’t even know where to begin at my age.

Sound familiar? You’re exactly who we built this for.

No Guesswork — Here’s What Happens

Three steps from your first call to your first session

1

A one-on-one goal-setting conversation

We talk about where you are, what’s held you back, and what you actually want. No script, no sales funnel — just an honest conversation with a coach who’s heard it all before.

2

A movement screen and InBody body composition scan

We look at how your body actually moves and measure what’s really going on under the surface. Your training is built around your body — not a generic template copied from someone twenty years younger.

3

You start training — coached, in a small group, at your pace

No trial by fire on day one. Your coach knows your history before you walk in. Groups are capped at 6, so they can actually watch your form and adjust in real time, every session.

The first call is informational — not a sales pitch. There’s no pressure to sign up on the spot. We figure out together whether we’re the right fit for each other.

Who This Is For

This is for people who’ve been here before — and it still didn’t stick.

  • Men and women in their 40s, 50s, and beyond who want to build real, lasting strength — not a crash transformation that falls apart in eight weeks.
  • People who’ve tried other gyms or programs and it didn’t fit, didn’t feel right, or just didn’t stick. The problem wasn’t you — it was the environment.
  • People training around an old injury — a bad knee, a tricky back, a shoulder that hasn’t been right for years. One-size-fits-all programs were not built for you. This one is.
  • Anyone who wants to feel like themselves again — not turn into someone else’s version of “fit.”

Why It Works

Small on purpose. Coached from day one.

👥

Small Group Fitness

This isn’t manufactured scarcity — it’s how we operate. Small Groups means your coach can actually watch your form, catch a problem before it becomes an injury, and adjust your movement in real time. Every session.

🎓

Certified coaches, ongoing education

Our coaches hold recognized certifications and continue their education actively. When the research on movement, recovery, or training for older athletes changes, so does our coaching — not years later.

📈

Progress without perfection

We’re not selling a 6-week transformation. We coach sustainable, long-term training — the kind that still works in your 60s and beyond, not just until the challenge group ends.

📅

17 years coaching Winnipeg

Since 2009, we’ve coached thousands of real training hours with real people at every starting point. You’re not an edge case to us — we’ve seen almost every limitation and past setback before.

“I have held memberships in many gyms in Winnipeg over the past 40 years. I was very nervous to go back — I’m older, haven’t worked out consistently for a long time, and have a few injuries. From the first phone call with Jen, I knew this would be a good fit. My consultation with Carla was amazing — she put me at ease. Sean welcomed me immediately and went over my modifications. I immediately felt accepted and not judged. I now look forward to going to the gym again — that is the best feeling. If you want a gym that feels like community, this is the gym.”

“I have been working out at Fukumoto Fitness for 8 years. I really appreciate the care the coaches have for each member — always providing feedback and adjusting the workout to suit a person’s ability and recovery from injury. Every time I feel like I don’t want to go workout I remind myself that I’ve NEVER regretted showing up and end up thankful that I did. We definitely are better together!”

Questions

Straight answers to the questions most people don’t ask out loud.

That’s the most common thing we hear — and it tells us you’re exactly the right fit. “Not being in shape” is the starting point for almost everyone who trains here. The assessment we do before you begin is specifically designed to find where you are right now, so your program builds from that baseline. You’re not expected to keep up with anyone. You’re coached at your own level, in your own lane.
Most of the people we coach are training around something — a knee, a hip, a shoulder, a back that’s been tricky for years. The movement screen we do before you start exists for exactly this reason. We find out what’s going on, and your program is designed to work with those limitations, not ignore them. We’re not a medical facility, but we work alongside your physio or doctor’s guidance when that applies.
We’re not going to tell you “this time will be different” — that’s for you to decide. What we can tell you is why most programs don’t stick: they’re built for people who already know what they’re doing, they offer no real coaching, and they make you feel like you’re failing when you’re just in an environment that wasn’t built for where you are. We’ve been coaching since 2009. We know what works long-term — and it’s not a 6-week challenge.
No. It’s a conversation. We’ll ask you what you’re looking for, what’s held you back, and what your body is dealing with right now. You can ask us anything. At the end, we’ll tell you honestly whether we think we’re a good fit — and if we’re not, we’ll say that too. There’s no pressure to sign up on the spot and no follow-up calls if you decide it’s not for you.
We don’t have a single price because the right program depends on your goals, your schedule, and how often you want to train. We’ll give you clear, straightforward pricing options on the call — after we understand what you’re actually looking for — so you can make a decision that makes sense for you. No hidden fees. No packages designed to be impossible to say no to.
